Desmond Tutu "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor
Here is my favorite quotes by bishop Desmond Tutu "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.” Martin Luther king also has popular saying that almost mean z same that goes like "The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people" I think these quotes are meant to be for those people, who may think that they are neutral for instance in a political situation like ours where the ethnocentric regime that is in power for the last two decades oppresses ninety million Ethiopians, but they really are not rather they r cooperating with the oppressor. As we all know even here in abroad where basic human rights and freedom of expressions are respected, there are communities, churches and individuals who choose not to speak out for those who are victims of the current regime but that is not correct from neither spiritual nor moral point of view. By so doing they should know that they are standing by the oppressor side and letting the victims die.
